Buller District Council

Media Release – New information signs installed in Reefton

12th November, 2020

New information panel signage has been installed in Reefton thanks to the Buller District Council, district wide revitalisation funding. This project was a collaboration between the Inangahua Community Board and Reefton i-Site.

Signs have been installed at the top of the town kiosk on The Strand, with information about Blacks Point and the Princess Theatre. The purpose of installing the new signs was to give new life to the information kiosk, update old information and refresh the images that tell the Tohu Whenua story of Reefton.

Tohu Whenua are the places that have shaped Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a partnership between Manatū Taonga – Ministry for Culture and Heritage, the Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
