Fire permits

Fire permits in Buller are managed by Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ).

Government created Fire and Emergency New Zealand in 2017, which is responsible for all aspects of fire service in New Zealand including fire permits.

FENZ is governed by the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017, effective from 1 July 2017. Prior to this, permits were managed by Buller District Council.

For a fire permit, you need to apply directly to Fire and Emergency New Zealand. There is no charge for a fire permit.
