Buller District Council welcomes new Group Manager Corporate Services, Paul Numan

Buller District Council is delighted to announce that Paul Numan has been appointed as the new Group Manager of Corporate Services, effective 4 June 2024. 

With an extensive financial and corporate management background, Mr. Numan brings a wealth of experience and strategic insight to Buller District Council. He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand. 

Born and raised in New Zealand, Paul has had a distinguished career across various sectors, including local government, health services, and community organisations. Before joining Buller District Council, he held significant roles such as General Manager of Corporate Services at Mackenzie District Council, Finance and Commercial Manager at Kaikoura District Council, and General Manager of Corporate Services at Richmond Services Ltd. 

Paul's passion for community service is palpable as he expresses his enthusiasm for joining the Buller District community: "I have always enjoyed the challenges and opportunities working in local government has offered. Meeting the team as part of the recruitment process reinforced the importance for me of working alongside others who are passionate about serving the Buller community. I am excited to contribute to the community and lead a dedicated team in delivering high-quality corporate services."

Mr. Numan's appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Buller District Council's Corporate Services. His leadership is anticipated to bring innovative solutions and a proactive approach to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for our community.
