Buller District Council adopts 2025-26 Annual Report

30 Oct 2026

Buller District Council has formally adopted its Annual Report for 2025-26, following approval by elected members at the full council meeting held on Wednesday 28 October.

The report, independently reviewed by auditors EY, provides a comprehensive account of council performance over the past financial year.

Buller District Mayor Chris Russell says the report demonstrates council’s commitment to ongoing improvement while continuing to deliver results for the Buller community.

“This report reflects the effort and dedication of our staff and elected members towards delivering tangible results for our ratepayers and residents. From the completion of the water trunk main replacement programme, improvements to our roading network and continued investment in stormwater infrastructure, we are proud of the progress made in 2025-26.”

Council closed the year with an operating surplus of $2.6 million, which is $6.0 million lower compared to the Long-Term Plan Year 1 budget of $8.6 million.

Council achieved 30 of its 63 performance measures (48%), with 33 not meeting the targeted measure.

The full Annual Report, alongside an Annual Report Summary for 2025-26 will be made available to view on the Buller District Council website.
