No Weed Spray register
Council offers property owners within the Buller District the option to include their property into the ‘No Weed Spray" register meaning your property frontage will not be sprayed by Council's spray contractors.

Council offers a ‘No Weed Spray’ option to residents within the Buller District on the condition that the residents confirm their agreement to maintain the street/road frontage/roadside channel/footpath adjacent to the property in a tidy condition free of weeds and noxious plants.
Should any residents fail to comply with Council’s requirements then they will be sent a reminder notice, with continued non-compliance resulting in Council removing the property from the register and arranging for weed spraying to be undertaken as in other areas of the district.
This application only applies to local roads maintained by Buller District Council and not roads on the State Highway network maintained by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi.
Council sets out the requirements for properties included in the ‘No Weed Spray’ register in it’s No Weed Spray Policy. You are required to comply with this policy.
How do I get added to the register?
You can make an application to enter a property to the register online or use our paper form. Alternatively, you can obtain a form from Buller District Council offices in Westport or Reefton.
