Funding from the Creative Communities Scheme is available for community-based arts activities in the Buller District (CCS).
The Scheme aims to increase participation in the arts at a local level and increase the range and diversity of arts available to communities.
The Scheme is a partnership between Creative New Zealand and local authorities. Each local authority is responsible for delivering the Scheme in its area.
Local decision-making is the key to the Scheme, and applications are considered by a subcommittee, which consists of two Councillors, one representative from the local Iwi, one representative from each of the three Community Arts Councils (Karamea, Buller, and Inangahua), and two community members.
There are three funding rounds for each financial year (1 July—30 June).
Round 1 of 3 (FY 25/26)
Closed 07/07/2025
Round 2 of 3 (FY 25/26)
Closed 06/10/25
Round 3 of 3 (FY 25/26)
Open 09/02/2026 - 09/03/26
Please note that groups or organisations must provide a copy of their latest financial statement. Before applying for CCS, check if your project/event/initiative is eligible for funding.
All applications must be on the Creative Communities application form either submitted online, by email to grants@bdc.govt.nz or in person at our service centers.
Images or screenshots of applications or supporting documents will not be accepted. Please submit these in Word or PDF.
