Intention to address Council, Council Committee or ICB
Please complete the form below to request to speak in front of Council, Council Committee, or the Inangaua Community Board.
Important:
- Complete one form per request.
- A request has to be submitted through the below online or paper form at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the meeting.
- You can download the paper form and drop it off at Council's offices in Westport or Reefton.
- Council's Governance assistance is available if you require assistance, email governance.assistant@bdc.govt.nz
Guidelines
- The Buller District Council Standing Orders allow members of the public to address both Council and Committee meetings.
- The Chairperson will call for members of the public to address Council in accordance with the Standing Orders.
- The Chairperson will determine the order of speakers.
- Each person is restricted to one address of up to five minutes.
- No more than two speakers can speak on behalf of an organisation during the public forum.
- Where the number of speakers presenting in the public forum exceeds six in total the Chairperson has discretion to restrict the speaking time permitted for all presenters.
- The Chairperson may comment or question the speaker on the address given or call upon a Councillor or Officer to comment or question.
