Services we offer

Our friendly team at Reefton's 'one-stop-shop' offers a wide range of services. Whether you are a long-standing local or a passing visitor, our doors are open, and we are here to help you.

The RVSC is your friendly first port of call if you are visiting Reefton and offers information on local attractions. The town’s gold rush in the 1860s helped to establish a rich heritage. You can walk through the RVSC's replica underground mine and check out the historical information and displays. There is also local information on mountain biking, hiking and 4WD tracks.

The RVSC is centrally located on Reefton’s main street and is equipped with wheelchair-friendly access and toilet facilities. Plenty of free parking is available nearby. Have a stroll down the main street and explore the historic adventures and scenic beauty that Reefton provides.

You can visit the Reefton Visitor Information page to find out more.

An ATM (automatic money machine) is located at the Reefton Visitor and Service Centre.

The Reefton Visitor and Service Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 4.30 pm for all services, and on Saturdays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm for library services and visitor information.

During the peak visitor season and on public holidays, the RVSC is also open on Sundays, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm for visitor information.

Our knowledgeable staff can help you with Council services, including rates payments and dog registrations, and submit any other Council requests to the correct department on your behalf.

Check out our online portal where you can look up council records and make online payments.

The Inangahua Library is a bright, warm, and welcoming space for everybody to enjoy, and includes a dedicated Children’s Area with activities and child-friendly seating.

There is a large range of items to borrow, and books can also be requested from Westport's Sue Thomson Casey Memorial Library.

A variety of events are available at the library. For more information on what our library in Reefton is offering, head to the library page.

The RVSC team delivers postal services including PO Box services, processing of courier deliveries, changing residential mail addresses, and putting temporary holds on mail delivery.

Staff are fully trained in all aspects of NZ Post services and can assist with most postal matters. We stock everything from pre-paid/plain envelopes, pre-paid bags and boxes to stamps, courier tickets and overseas postage.

For a complete overview of NZ Post products, services and requirements, visit the NZ Post website.

Offering selected Waka Kotahi/New Zealand Transport Agency transactions forms another important part of the services the RVSC offers. Staff are trained to assist with vehicle licencing needs, including changes of ownership and accepting payments for road user charges and vehicle licencing fees.
