Water shutdown - Wakefield Street and surrounds: 19 May 2026

Residents are advised that the areas listed below will experience a planned water shutdown between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm on Tuesday 19 May while new water mains and property connections are completed along Wakefield Street in Westport.

• Wakefield Street from Queen Street to Palmerston Street
• Queen Street from Brougham Street to Fonblanque Street
• Russell Street from Brougham Street to Rintoul Street

During this period, customers will initially experience no water supply, followed by a period of low water pressure while the new connections and fire hydrants are flushed. 

Please refer to the plan below for details of the affected areas. Affected residents will be notified in advance by the contractor.

Please note that this shutdown is weather dependent.

Purpose: Connection of new water main and laterals

Work hours: 7 am – 5 pm 

Shutdown hours: 9 am – 4 pm
