Water shutdown - Gladstone Street: Rescheduled 30/9/25

25 Sep 2025

The water supply shutdown scheduled for Gladstone Street has been postponed due to rainfall and a high water table.

With more wet weather expected tomorrow, the shutdown has been postponed until next week.

According to the weather forecast, the most suitable window for the work is Tuesday 30 September.

However, this activity remains weather dependent, and Council will continue to provide updates here and on the BDC website.

Updated shutdown details:

Purpose: Connection of new water main and laterals to all properties
Start date: Tuesday 30/09/2025
Shutdown hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Area affected: Gladstone Street between Queen and Derby Streets, including sections of Peel, Queen, and Romilly Streets.

During this time, there will first be a period of no water supply followed by a period of low water pressure while flushing all new connections and fire hydrants in the area. Please refer to the map below for the areas affected by the shutdown.

Updates will be provided here and on BDC’s Facebook.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their cooperation.
