Water Conservation Notice: Punakaiki

The operations team carried out intake maintenance at the Punakaiki Water Supply yesterday and observed that the intake flow remains minimal, with clear signs of drying. The water treatment plant inflow has decreased from its normal 6.5 m³/hr to 5.2 m³/hr.

The storage tank upgrade has significantly increased storage capacity, allowing Punakaiki’s supply to last up to five days based on current water consumption with no intake flow.

With minimal rainfall forecasted over the next seven days, Council is now issuing a Water Conservation Notice for Punakaiki.
