Road closure: Soldiers-Big River Road, Reefton

A major slip has caused the closure of Soldiers-Big River Road in Reefton, approximately 6 km from the SH7 turn off.

The road will be closed while repair options are assessed, a repair option is confirmed, and the reinstatement work is completed.

Access to the Department of Conservation’s Alborns Walk car park and track and the 4WD track to Big River Hut are both impacted by this road closure.

There are no residential properties affected by this road closure.

Council will provide an update once the repair option is confirmed.
