POSTPONED - Water supply shutdown - Wakefield Street

The water shutdown planned for Wakefield Street today, 8 June has been postponed until tomorrow, Tuesday 9 June. Revised details below.

Residents are advised that the areas listed below will experience a planned water shutdown between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm on Tuesday 9 June while new water mains and property connections are completed along Wakefield Street:

• Wakefield Street from Derby Street to Queen Street
• Romilly Street from Brougham Street to Rintoul Street
• Peel Street from Brougham Street to Rintoul Street

During this period, customers will initially experience no water supply, followed by a period of low water pressure while the new connections and fire hydrants are flushed.

This shutdown is weather dependent. 

Shutdown details:
Purpose: Connection of new water main and laterals to all properties
Start date: Tuesday 9 June 2026
Work hours: 7 am – 5 pm
Shutdown hours: 9 am – 4 pm
