Overnight water supply shutdown - Palmerston Street: 7 May 2026
The water supply to Palmerston Street from Fonblanque Street to Mill Street will be shut down on Thursday 7 May from 10:00 pm until 2:00 am to facilitate a new connection to the water main.
During this time, there will be a period of no water, followed by a period of low water pressure while flushing of fire hydrants in the area is completed.
Residents are advised to store sufficient water for drinking and flushing toilets during this time.
Affected residents and businesses will be contacted by the contractor, Paul Smith Earthmoving prior to the shutdown.
This work is weather dependent and may be delayed for 24 hours if conditions are unsuitable on 7 May.
