Localised water main shutdown - Palmerston and Brougham Streets: 24 March 2026

Residents and businesses are advised that a planned water shutdown will affect the water supply to:

• The eastern side of Palmerston Street (from Brougham Street to Wakefield Street) and
• The northern side of Brougham Street (from Palmerston Street to Russell Street)

The water supply will be shut down for approximately two hours during the afternoon of Tuesday 24 March. This shutdown is required to install a flow meter on the water main.

During this period, customers will first experience a period of no water, followed by a period of low pressure while the new connections and fire hydrants in the area are flushed. 

The work hours are 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. As the work is located on the state highway, traffic management will be in place.
