Group Manager ready for next adventures

18 Jun 2024

Buller District Council’s Mike Duff has resigned from his role as Group Manager Infrastructure Services.

After nearly eight years of service for the district, Mike has accepted a new career opportunity and is looking forward to his next adventures.

Together with his family, wife Alyson and son Harris, Mike came to Buller in 2016 for the Group Manager role and has been an integral member of council’s Senior Leadership Team through many achievements and challenges over the years. The family have loved their life on the coast, especially enjoying the stunning natural environment and genuine warmth of the community.

“Buller is such a beautiful place with so many wonderful people. We have very fond memories of our time here and we’ll miss everything that makes it so special.”

Mike will finish work at the end of June, in order to commence his new role next month, and has expressed his appreciation for the experiences council has provided.

“I want to thank all council staff and elected members whom I’ve had the privilege of working with. Their passion and dedication for our communities is outstanding. I’m especially grateful to the infrastructure team who have worked so hard during my time as GM. I wish everyone the best for the future.”

Council CEO Simon Pickford says: “Mike has completed eight remarkable years as Group Manager Infrastructure Services at Buller District Council. His dedication and hard work have contributed significantly to our community's development and success. We wish Mike and family best wishes for their next chapter.”

The recruitment process for the Group Manager Infrastructure Services role will commence shortly, with a further announcement on interim arrangements to follow.
