Council workshops and meetings for April
Council will come together for a series of additional meetings and workshops in April.
3 April 2024, 3:30 pm at the Clocktower ChambersEnhanced Annual Plan workshop
This Enhanced Annual Plan workshop is for elected members to discuss the Draft Enhanced Annual Plan. The key agenda items will cover changes made since the last Annual Plan, targeted rates, and any final concerns or thoughts from our councillors before the draft comes up for adoption on 10 April 2024.
Solid waste consultation options from July 2025
Elected members will discuss the Zone 1 consultation on Solid Waste - key findings from the consultation in 2023 revealed some support for wheelie bins, but there were concerns from residents over making costs mandatory and the impact it would have on those who produce minimal waste.
The elected members met in early November 2023 to discuss waste management going forward and as part of a workshop for the Enhanced Annual Plan, decided to go back to the community to consult on three options around how waste could be managed in Buller in the future.
This consultation is now running parallel to the 2024-2025 Enhanced Annual Plan consultation as a Special Consultative Procedure (SCP), pursuant to the Local Government Act 2002 Section 83.
10 April, 4:00pm at the Clocktower Chambers
Extraordinary Council Meeting
This meeting is for council to discuss adoption of the Draft Enhanced Annual Plan. They will also be discussing the consultation options for Solid Waste from July 2025 and acceptance of tenders for Council works contracts.
