Buller Holdings Ltd appoints new director

19 Sep 2025

Buller Holdings Ltd (BHL) has confirmed the appointment of Kelsey Mundy as a Director for a two-year term, commencing at the company’s Annual General Meeting on 4 November 2025.

Ms Mundy, a practising lawyer based in Westport, has strong professional and personal ties to the Buller region. She grew up locally and attended Buller High School before studying law at the University of Canterbury, graduating in 2012. After completing her studies, she returned home and has been working at Connors Legal, becoming a director and shareholder of the firm in July 2024.

Alongside her legal career, Ms Mundy has held governance roles within the community. She has served on the board of the Westport Early Learning Centre since 2017, acting as chairperson for the past two years.

Mayor Jamie Cleine said the Council was pleased to welcome Ms Mundy to the board, noting her appointment as a positive step for the organisation and recognising the value she brings to the role.

“Kelsey brings a wealth of professional expertise, governance experience, and, most importantly, a deep connection to the Buller community. Having grown up here and now contributing locally through both her legal practice and community roles, she understands the challenges and opportunities facing our district. Her appointment reflects our commitment to strengthening the capability of BHL while ensuring strong local representation at the board table,” Mayor Cleine said.

The Risk and Audit Committee recommended Ms Mundy’s appointment following an open recruitment process, which attracted 15 applicants. The appointment fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Director Lynn Brooks and will ensure a full complement of directors for the BHL board from November 2025.
