Buller Holdings Limited announces director appointments and remuneration updates
Over recent months Buller District Council, through its Risk and Audit Committee (RAC) has conducted an appointment process for directors to its Council Controlled Organisation, Buller Holdings Limited (BHL).
At the BHL Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday 30 October 2024, current Chairman Steve Grave was reappointed for a further term of three years, along with Vanessa van Uden, current Health and Safety Chairperson, who was appointed for a further two-year term.
In addition, BHL welcomed two new directors, Lynn Brooks for a three-year term and Rochelle Crossman for a one-year term. Both live within the Buller District and bring an extensive range of skills and experience to the Board table, including being graduates of the Development West Coast governance programme.
The new appointments are part of a considered future director succession plan for BHL. In order to support this, council approved an increase in BHL director numbers from five to six for a period of one year.
Council also approved an increase to director remuneration of 5.8%, which is in line with the Institute of Directors' Snapshot Fee Review. The BHL Board requested that the increase be deferred until 1 July 2025 in recognition of the tough economic environment. Council welcomed and supported this request.
Mayor Jamie Cleine says: “I am very pleased to announce the appointments and wish to thank the current directors for their diligent efforts on behalf BHL and the community. Particular thanks go to director Kieran Sweetman, who stepped down at the BHL AGM.
