Buller District summer road sealing programme update: 20 January 2026

Buller residents are advised that the summer road resealing programme is currently underway.

This work is being carried out by Buller District Council in conjunction with Fulton Hogan. The works are expected to continue through until March, weather permitting.

There will be night works taking place in some areas, particularly around schools and businesses.

Road users should expect delays of up to 20 minutes in some areas. Traffic management will be in place, and where possible, detours will be available.

Please note, the sealing works scheduled for the Reefton, Ikamatua and Maruia areas from mid-January have been postponed until February, a notification will be issued once a new start date is confirmed.

Significant Westport township road asphalting, including night works are currently underway.

If access to properties will be affected, residents will be notified in advance.
