Buller District Council’s Group Manager Corporate Services Paul Numan resigns
Buller District Council (BDC) has today announced the resignation of Group Manager Corporate Services Paul Numan, for family reasons.
Mr Numan took up the role with BDC’s Corporate Services team in June 2024 and has been a pivotal part of the senior leadership team throughout his time with council, as well as a valued advisor, manager and leader.
Reflecting on his upcoming departure, Mr Numan shares: "Leaving my role here at Buller District Council is a decision I've not made lightly and is driven by the necessity to be closer to my family in Christchurch at this time. I value the strong connections and support I've received here and am grateful for the opportunities the role in Buller has offered."
Chief Executive Officer Simon Pickford states: “Paul’s decision to prioritise his family is something we respect and understand, given the challenges of commuting across the island. His contributions have bolstered our team, and we are grateful for his dedication and the changes he has brought during his time with us.”
In light of this development and to ensure a smooth transition, Lesley Crichton, who formerly served as Westland District Council’s Group Manager Corporate Services and Risk Assurance will take on the Group Manager Corporate Services role at BDC for a period of three months, commencing Wednesday 15 October.
Ms Crichton will be a council employee, not a contractor, and will provide interim cover while recruitment for this role is underway.
