Buller District Council appoints permanent Group Manager Corporate Services

Buller District Council has appointed Lesley Crichton as its permanent Group Manager Corporate Services, following the departure of previous Group Manager Paul Numan in October 2025.

Ms Crichton, who formerly served as Westland District Council’s Group Manager Corporate Services and Risk Assurance has been providing interim cover for this role over the past two months.

Chief Executive Officer Simon Pickford says: “Lesley brings considerable corporate leadership and financial management experience to BDC. She has more than 10 years of experience in local government and is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

“Lesley joins us at pivotal time for BDC, and we’re delighted to have her on board permanently. The appointment is effective immediately, based at Brougham House in Westport.”

Ms Crichton is looking forward to moving to Buller and becoming part of the community.
