We seek the community's input on bylaws, the Council’s Long-Term Plan, Annual Plans, major reviews, significant changes, and other big-ticket items.

When Council asks the community for their views on these key topics, it is important to provide feedback so that Council can consider your thoughts. This will ensure that the communities' diverse views are taken into account when Council makes a decision.

Council follows a clearly defined and transparent process throughout each consultation, ensuring your feedback is read, acknowledged, and considered.

How do I give feedback?

Once a consultation opens, we publish the relevant information on our online community engagement hub Let's talk Buller.

Gambling Venues Policy

Council is gathering feedback from the community on the Draft Gambling Venues Policy.

Following on from earlier community engagement and consideration of a Social Impact Assessment Council is now seeking feedback from the community on its Draft Gambling Venues Policy, which sets out where and how venues can operate electronic gaming machines (pokies) and where standalone TAB venues can be located.

The draft policy keeps the requirement for any future applications for new venues or additional gaming machines to be publicly notified. This allows the community to make submissions, which Council will consider before making a decision on the application. We’re now inviting you to share your views on the draft policy.

Your feedback will help shape the final policy and ensure it reflects the values and needs of our community.

This survey is open from 19 November to 4:30 pm, 19 December 2025.
