Community Outreach days

Are you interested in connecting with your Council? Can we provide you with advice or guidance on Council processes? Would you like to know more about what Council does?

What's happening?

Bi-monthly drop-in sessions will be held in Ngakawau and Karamea and then Charleston and Punakaiki - come along and chat with us face-to-face.

By heading out into communities without a regular physical council presence, locals from our rural areas will have an opportunity to connect with staff and councillors.

The ‘drop-in’-style sessions will provide a location for members of the public to meet with council staff from different departments across the organisation to discuss concerns and issues, and to seek advice directly on ‘how to’ using council processes.

Councillors from the various wards across Buller will also be invited to each event, providing insight into the district’s governance, and considering the perspectives of individual communities.

Each outreach session will aim to provide information relevant to current or upcoming activities and engagements on the council calendar but will not replace any specific or required consultation process.

This outreach initiative aims to encourage the development of positive relationships between council and communities.

Want to join us?

Session dates and times will be advertised on the calendar below and on the Buller District Council Facebook page.

  • The first Outreach Day is Tuesday 17 September 2024. See the calendar below for the event venues and times.
