Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa

Buller District Library provides free computing and Internet access via the Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa(APNK), available at the Westport and Reefton libraries.

APNK computers using the Chrome operating system are available in the libraries for customer use. For working with documents, Google Docs and Microsoft’s Office Online are available, and just require either a Google or a Microsoft account to get started. The computers also have apps installed for video calling, screen recording, and drawing, among others. Each APNK device has USB ports (for attaching peripherals like flashdrives or webcams) and a headphones jack.

Free wifi access is also available.

Reefton Library – 3 computers and wifi

Use of the computers is on a first-come-first-served basis. A limit of 30 minutes per session applies. When there are no computers available, you can get added to a booking queue, in order to get use of a computer when one comes free.

A4 printing is available from APNK computers, at a cost of $0.20 per page for black and white printing or $1.00 per page for colour printing .

When you are using library computers you should not:
·         attempt to violate our computer system security
·         do anything illegal, infringe copyright or view offensive material
·         disturb other people’s use of the library
