Buller District Council

Unchlorinated Water Supplies BOIL WATER NOTICE

26th March, 2020

Buller District Council wishes to advise that a Precautionary Boil Water Notice has been issued for Inangahua Junction and Punakaiki water supplies. The existing Precautionary Boil Water Notice for Reefton also remains in effect.

There have been no transgressions or issues with water quality for any of these supplies. Boiling water is advised as a precautionary measure to assist with facilitating good health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Waimangaroa, Ngakawau-Hector, Mokihinui and Little Wanganui water supplies remain on Permanent Boil Water Notice as they are untreated supplies.

This means that ALL UNCHLORINATED water supplies across the district are now on Boil Water Notice until further notice.

Consumers are requested to boil all water for drinking and for use in food preparation. Guidance information can be found on our website.

Please note that as a chlorinated supply, Westport and Carters Beach Water Supply is excluded from this Boil Water Notice.
