SoundsAir bumps up flights for summer

Sounds Air has released a new schedule for flights between Westport and Wellington for the next three weeks.

From Monday 27 September through until 17 October, flights will operate seven days a week. An early 6:45am departure Tuesday – Friday is back on the schedule as well as a 3:25pm afternoon departure from Wellington to Westport operating Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Westport Airport is operating under Covid-19 alert level 2 regulations and guidelines. Customers are required to:

  • Maintain 2m physical distancing outside your bubble.
  • Sign in – either scan the facility QR code or manually sign in.
  • Sanitise – sanitising stations are set up at the terminal entrance. A second sanitising station is set up at the exit to boarding, where you will be asked to sanitise your hands before leaving the terminal to board your flight.
  • Wear a mask – wearing masks in the terminal and on all flights is mandatory. People are asked to respect this, bring their own mask, put their mask on before entering the terminal, keep their mask on in the terminal, and while transiting to the aircraft and onboard the flight.

Group manager commercial and corporate services Rod Fox says: “We are very pleased that Sounds Air has increased flights so we can offer our passengers more options to reach their destination. The Westport Airport is operating under alert level 2 restrictions. We ask our passengers to be patient, understanding, and kind to fellow travellers and to our airport staff.”
