RESCHEDULED: Carters Beach, Alma Road and South Westport water shutdown 11 September 2024

Carters Beach, Alma Road, and South Westport (from Roebuck Street to Nine Mile Road, see map below) will experience a water shutdown on Wednesday 11 September between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm to allow for replacement of a worn-out valve.

During the zero-pressure testing last week, a faulty valve was found in the South Westport sectorisation zone, which caused the pressure testing to fail.

The aim of Wednesday's scheduled works is to replace the old valve and complete the zero-pressure testing during the same shutdown period.

Shutdown details:

Purpose: Faulty valve replacement

Start date: Wednesday 11 September 2024

Work hours: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Affected areas: Carters Beach, Alma Road and South Westport (from Roebuck Street to Nine Mile Road, see below).
