Council’s planning department hit by Covid-19

27 Jul 2022

Buller District Council’s planning services are currently impacted by Covid-19 with more than 50% of the planning team on sick leave this week.

Residents who are awaiting a resource consent, have requested a LIM report or other planning services need to be prepared for a delay in processing times.

Buller District Council’s group manager regulatory services Sean Judd says: “Having most of the team away on sick leave has impacted our ability to meet the usual timeframes for planning related services. We ask applicants and residents waiting for a response to be patient.”

Mr Judd says council acknowledges the delay in processing times will cause inconvenience.

“We are committed to addressing the back log as soon as possible when staff are well enough to return to work. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
