The Council staff is headed by a Chief Executive, who oversees a management team consisting of the managers of the three Council operational areas – Community and Environment, Operations and Corporate Services.
Steve was born and educated in Christchurch. He worked for Poverty Bay and Westland Catchment Boards before moving to the Buller district. Steve started work with the Buller County Council as an Assistant Engineer from 1973 to 1980, then Westport Borough Council as Borough Engineer from 1980 to 1989, when the Borough amalgamated to form the Buller District Council. In 2004 Steve was appointed Manager Operations.
Craig was born and raised in Buller. Craig has 17 years experience in the banking industry. In his most recent position at ASB Bank he was Business Development Manager for Buller – West Coast which focused around developing internal and external relationships within the finance sector. Craig was appointed Manager Community and Environment in 2009.
Dean was born in Westport, he has a degree in Accountancy and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Dean was formerly Councils Financial Accountant and was promoted to the role of Manager Corporate Services in July 2016.
