The Council staff is headed by a Chief Executive, who oversees a management team consisting of the managers of the three Council operational areas – Community and Environment, Assets & Infrastructure, and Corporate Services.
Mike was born in NZ before moving to Australia in 1980. Having tertiary qualifications in engineering, a career in project management followed major infrastructure projects around the world. With executive experience in the private sector, Mike moved into Local Government, leading business units delivering asset renewal and capital works programs. With a passion for organisational development and continuous improvement, Mike brings a wide range of skills, knowledge and strategic thinking to the role. Mike was appointed Group Manager – Assets & Infrastructure in November 2016.
Craig was born and raised in Buller. Craig has 17 years experience in the banking industry. In his most recent position at ASB Bank he was Business Development Manager for Buller – West Coast which focused around developing internal and external relationships within the finance sector. Craig was appointed Manager Community and Environment in 2009.
Dean was born in Westport, he has a degree in Accountancy and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Dean was formerly Council’s Financial Accountant and was promoted to the role of Manager Corporate Services in July 2016.
